Pregnancy is a cherished period in the life of a woman. It is the time when she thinks only about her child all the time. She feels special as she is growing s baby inside her. She is very careful about what to do for the benefit of the child and what not to do as may prove harmful for the baby. Eating healthy is the one thing that is a must during pregnancy. It is most important for the healthy development of the child. But most of the women find it difficult to eat healthy during pregnancy due to their food cravings or food aversions. Here are some of the tips that may help you in healthy eating during your pregnancy.

The first thing that must be done is assortment of different foods. You should include variety of food in your plate. Your body needs all kinds of vitamins, minerals and nutrients during pregnancy. Including different things in your diet will make it sure that you are getting a little bit of all the necessary nutrients. If you stick to only a few things in your diet then it will not only make you bored about your food but there is also a chance of having one kind of nutrient in excess without having other necessary nutrients. And it is not good in case of pregnancy.

The next step is striking a balance between different food items. Excess of every thing is bad and we should have all the required nutrients in moderate. It is not that you should always deprive yourself of your food cravings but you should have them in moderate. For example if you are feeling cravings for ice cream then have is a little. But if you tend to eat the whole container then it is not good. Just remember one thing that you can eat every thing but you should never overdo any thing. Moderation should be your key.

The third step is color. You should make your plate as colorful as possible. You can add different kinds of vegetables and fruits in your plate. In this way your plate will appeal you the most and you will feel happy eating it. You can select the colors of your choice and then try in bringing them in your plate.

You should never even think about dieting when you are pregnant. Remember that pregnancy is the only stage when that woman is expected to increase weight. It is not the right time to indulge in dieting so as to control weight. It may prove extremely harmful for the growth of the child. It is because all kinds of vitamins, minerals and nutrients are necessary for the healthy development of child and if you are indulging your self in dieting then you are depriving your child of certain nutrients and this is really harmful for the baby.

If you are having food aversions then you should try experimenting with new food items. You should eat your food slowly so that it is well absorbed by the body. And it will also prevent heartburn.
